South Campus  |  Thursday, April 17 • 1pm

Instructor: Deb Ellinger • Human Interest

The term, “human trafficking” has been seen and heard in the news more prominently in recent years. What forms does it take? What are some of the warning signs of human trafficking? How does one report a suspected instance of human trafficking? This course will build awareness of human trafficking in Detroit and surrounding communities and help to alleviate this destructive practice locally as well as across the nation.

About the Presenter: Deb Ellinger is a graduate of Ferris State University and is currently working on her master’s in social work. She is the founder and executive director of Elli’s house, a nonprofit that serves survivors of human trafficking through a residential and outreach program focused on the City of Detroit. Deb exemplifies the term, “servant leader.”
